CO-OP LOCAL COMMUNITY FUND HELP SAVE LIVES ACROSS DEVON

BASICS Devon a small local charity is thrilled to announce that they have received an amazing £8,555.09 from the Co-op Local Community Fund.

At a time when funds for community groups and charitable organisations are becoming more difficult to access, BASICS Devon volunteer doctors are incredibly grateful and want to say thank you to the Co-op staff and customers for this opportunity to make a real difference in Devon.

Three stores in Plymouth chose BASICS Devon as one of their charities, Ernesettle, Whitleigh and Southway, Amie Bull Fundraising Manager for BASICS Devon said ‘The staff and customers at all 3 Co-op stores have been so supportive and helpful. We really enjoyed our time with them and cannot thank them all enough for the incredible amount of money raised.’

The Co-op staff and customers have enabled a volunteer doctor to be fully prepared and equipped both physically and mentally to respond, which will help support our current volunteers, but more so to cover the areas that vitally need additional emergency response.

BASICS Devon volunteer Dr Ian Higginson thanked the staff and customers personally “We are really chuffed. Donations like this get and keep volunteer doctors on the road. This will help us add one more to our team so we can support the South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust better.”
