BASICS Devon volunteer Dr David Hillebrandt thanked the staff, partners and customers at Waitrose & Partners, Holsworthy for raising a brilliant £100.00. Marilyn Childley and her colleagues, did this throughout 2019 with the lovely idea of sweet and savoury bake and buy sales.
As a small charity it is always so very much appreciated to receive donations such as this, knowing that local communities are being reached and raising awareness.
This will make a real difference to the Devon community. In 2019 there were 463 emergency call outs, 144 of those were at night, that BASICS Devon volunteer doctors responded to, some of which were rural hard to reach incidents. Donations help to ensure BASICS Devon volunteer doctors can continue to be there anytime, anywhere to provide immediate access to specialist emergency medical care at the scene of illness or accident, especially in remote rural communities.
